State police allege that a Fort Drum woman stole a customer's credit card Tuesday in Price Chopper, then went on a $2,339.76 spending spree with the card before being apprehended at Salmon Run Mall.

Jacquelin A. Oday, 43, was arrested on charges of second-degree forgery, fourth-degree grand larceny and petit larceny. She was arraigned before Pamelia Town Justice Richard C. Baker, and, upon recommendation of the district attorney's office, was released without bail. She awaits grand jury action.

Police said she stole a credit card belonging to Donna Donegan, Alexandria Bay, from the victim's purse. She then left the store, not paying for groceries later tabulated at $326.09 in value, police alleged.

Her next stop was at Sunoco Gas on Arsenal Street, where she used Ms. Donegan's card for a $71.98 purchase, police said. She then drove to Salmon Run Mall, where police allege Ms. Donegan's card was used for an $1,831.73 purchase at J.B. Robinson jewelry, another buy for $377.11 at Kay Jewelers and finally a $58.94 purchase from a Proactiv cosmetic vending machine.

A member of Ms. Donegan's family was on the phone with the credit card agency reporting the card theft, and the agency was able to reveal where the card was being used, police said. Troopers located Mrs. Oday about 2 p.m. She was not using the card when apprehended, a trooper said.
