Good morning! There's not much of a public schedule today for the 23rd Congressional District candidates.

• 8:30 a.m. Dede Scozzafava attends Plattsburgh-North Country Chamber of Commerce breakfast.

• Sometime around lunch. Ms. Scozzafava attends senior citizen luncheon in Plattsburgh with Assemblywoman Jan Duprey, R-Peru.

Mr. Hoffman and Mr. Owens have no public events today. Mr. Hoffman may be able to be found at his Saranac Lake headquarters, however.

And now here's what is making news in the political world:

NY-23

A "flustered and often ill-at-ease" Mr. Hoffman "showed no grasp of the bread-and-butter issues pertinent to district residents" during a Watertown Daily Times editorial board meeting Thursday.

The meeting came right after Mr. Hoffman formally picked up the support of former House Majority Leader Dick Armey.

Mr. Hoffman had thought about skipping a public forum Thursday in Wanakena, but then joined Ms. Scozzafava up there anyway. (Mayor Graham thinks he made the wrong move - picking real voters over a television program.)

North Country Public Radio nails its profile of Doug Hoffman.

Mr. Hoffman also interviewed with Mark Levin.

The Conservative candidate has raised more than a quarter million dollars since starting his campaign, according to a FEC filing.

Mr. Hoffman raised an additional $210,000 more online in the last seven days.

Sarah Palin's endorsement of Doug Hoffman could help bring in a few more dollars. It could also help the former Alaska governor appeal to her conservative base.

Michelle Bachmann sounds like she's also backing the Conservative candidate.

Bill Owens tours Lyonsdale Biomass. (Here's WWNY's take.)

The Madsion County GOP chairwoman received 3,000 "hate e-mails" from across the country after she helped pick Ms. Scozzafava.

A handful of bloggers who live outside the district are saying Ms. Scozzafava should drop out.

Political IV gives failing grades so far to Scozzafava's team.

Here's a good recap of most everything that took place during a wacky Thursday.
