Scee has required financial experience

As you travel around the town of Hounsfield, you will see a dozen different signs for candidates in the upcoming election. One of those signs is for Tim Scee, who is running for supervisor.

Tim Scee has been a friend of mine for the last 30 years. He cares about people. He is the man, who at a church fundraiser or a fire department barbecue, is the guy behind the scenes, cooking the chicken or preparing the food. Tim gives of his time unselfishly and is a kind, caring, giving person. When I asked where Tim was at his own benefit dinner 10 years ago, I learned Tim was in the kitchen cooking spaghetti.

He has that "it" quality — he gets it, he understands, he listens and he treats people with dignity and respect. He spent 22 years as a city carrier for the Watertown post office and eight years as the postmaster in Depauville. He was one of the first 15 people in the United States to be selected for the Associate Supervisor Program.

Tim understands how to run a business. As a postmaster, he had to keep track of a precise financial budget and keep expenditures down, as well as manage people and deal with customers. He has used that ability to run a very successful ice cream store in downtown Sackets Harbor, Saturdays and Sundaes and More. If elected, he will apply his knowledge to the new job as supervisor.

Tim cares about his community as well. He is president of the Sackets Harbor Chamber of Commerce. He was the chairman of the General Brown Weekend Days for 20 years. He is serving on the Water Advisory Committee for the town.

Tim has honesty, integrity and character. Tim will bring these attributes to managing the town of Hounsfield budget and will make sure to adhere strictly to all rules, regulations and laws. He has financial experience, demonstrated service to the community and would be a breath of fresh air to the town of Hounsfield. I am going to vote for Tim Scee, and I hope you will too.
