Pair accused of stealing
$85 in items from stores
MALONE — State police charged two people Friday with petit larceny following alleged thefts at Walmart and Dollar General in Malone.
Troopers said Danielle M. Hadlock, 21, of 181 E. Main St., Apt. 2, Chateaugay, and Joseph S. Hadlock, 24, of 69 Buckwheat Road, Moira, were given tickets to appear in Town Court.
The pair took a waterproof mattress cover from Dollar General and a bathrobe, poker cards, lingerie, electrical tape and thermal clothing from Walmart, stuffing the items into their clothing, troopers said.
The value of the items was approximately $85, troopers said.
Police cite Greig woman
with cruelty to animals
MARTINSBURG — Lewis County sheriff's deputies on Tuesday charged Naomi Beadore, 19, Greig, with six counts of cruelty to animals.
Deputies said they responded Oct. 11 to a town of Martinsburg residence on an unrelated complaint and were informed to check the garage. They allegedly found a dog, and later five puppies, belonging to Ms. Beadore that were in very poor condition.
She is to appear in Martinsburg Town Court.
Philadelphia teen charged
with criminal trespassing
PHILADELPHIA — Joshua N. Askerneese, 16, 307A Eagle Ave., was charged with second-degree criminal trespassing about 7:55 p.m. Friday at his home by Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies.
Police said earlier that day he entered a home at 327A Quaker Ave. in the village and remained there unlawfully.
Mr. Askerneese was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Village Court. He was released to the custody of his parents.
Man charged with writing
bogus checks to 3 stores
A man is jailed on allegations that during a week in August, he passed 17 checks on a nonexistent account in amounts totaling $4,964.86 at three stores in the town of Watertown, according to court documents.
Shawn M. Desormeau, 29, of 22664 Lewis St., was being held Friday in the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building, with bail set at $1,000 by town of Watertown Justice Andrew N. Capone. He awaits grand jury action on charges of third-degree grand larceny and first-degree scheme to defraud.
State police allege that from Aug. 18 to 25, he issued eight bogus checks at Sam's Club for $2,511.55, six checks at Walmart for $1,925.58 and three at Hannaford for $527.73.
He also is facing a petit larceny charge lodged by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department in connection with an alleged shoplifting incident Aug. 5 at Kohl's, according to the court.
Watertown man arrested
in scuffle at Fat Boy's bar
Scott E. Boyce, 22, of 246 N. Pleasant St., was arrested by city police at 2 a.m. Friday at Fat Boy's tavern, 743 Huntington St., on charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and unlawful possession of marijuana.
City police said some people restrained him when he attempted to fight with another man. He then pulled away when an officer tried to take him into custody, police said.
Pair accused of possessing
unstamped cigarettes
BURKE — Two brothers from Massachusetts pleaded guilty in Chateaugay Town Court to having unstamped cigarettes.
Lawrence E. Allard, 71, Ware, Mass., and David S. Allard, 63, Gibertville, were granted an adjournment in contemplation of dismissal, troopers said.
They were charged Friday in the town of Burke.
Troopers said the pair had 25 cases of unstamped cigarettes.
Clayton boy, 15, charged
with intruding at home
CLAYTON — A 15-year-old boy was caught Friday morning intruding in a woman's house on County Route 181 in the town of Clayton, according to state police.
The juvenile, charged with third-degree burglary, is summoned to appear in Jefferson County Family Court. A trooper said Meghann G. Parker returned home about 10 a.m. to find the youth, known to her, in the house. Nothing was stolen.
Watertown man charged
in incident with neighbor
Anthony M. Johnson, 19, of 435 S. Hycliff Drive, Apt. 604C, is ordered to appear in City Court to face second-degree counts of criminal trespass and harassment, according to Watertown police.
He allegedly pushed and punched Michael A. Rixford, 19, in the victim's neighboring apartment about 9 p.m. Monday, and ignored orders to leave the residence, police said.
Police: West Leyden man
harassed mother-in-law
PORT LEYDEN — Ian J. Burke, 20, of 770 Witzigman Road, West Leyden, was charged Tuesday by state police with aggravated harassment on a complaint filed by his mother-in-law, and is summoned to appear in town of Leyden Court.
Leota Tittle, Port Leyden, alleges that he made numerous unwanted phone calls to her, police said.
British Columbia man
fined for having drug
COLLINS LANDING — A man paid a $420 fine in town of Orleans Court on Monday evening after he was found possessing Ecstasy at U.S. Customs on Wellesley Island, according to state police.
Kien D. Nguyen, 29, Delta, British Columbia, pleaded guilty to seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
