Voters in District 4 have the opportunity once again to elect our representative to the Lewis County Board of Legislators. John Boyd has represented the taxpayers and residents of the town of New Bremen and the northern tip of the town of Lowville for the past eight years. John has always had an open ear and mind on all of our concerns and has always put his best foot forward to what he feels is the right approach, not only for this district but for all the taxpayers of Lewis County.
Just a short time ago the county in its budget concerns decided that the transfer site in the northern end of the county was losing money and that it needed to be closed.
John, knowing that closure of the site would put an undue burden on the taxpayer in the townships of Croghan, Diana and New Bremen, was one of the legislators who had the solid waste department re-evaluate the location. In turn, it was determined that the transfer site was actually making money, not losing money like what was presented to the Board of Legislators, and the site will remain open.
Please remember to vote Nov. 3, and let's keep John Boyd. He is the right man for the job.
