CANTON — Two village teens were accused of robbing another teen of marijuana at knife-point behind Rite Aid in the Midtown Shopping Plaza.

Tegan P. King, 16, of 19 Gouverneur St., and Tristan Perry, 17, of 46 E. Main St., were both charged Tuesday with first- and second-degree robbery, both felonies, village police said. Mr. Perry also was charged with second-degree menacing.

Sebastian J. Jerome, 16, was looking to sell about 11 grams of marijuana, valued at $110, on Oct. 15 and thought Mr. King would be interested, according to court documents. Mr. King declined but thought Mr. Perry would like some marijuana.

Mr. Jerome later met both at Rite Aid to sell the marijuana and decided to go behind the store near a locked shed. Mr. Jerome was then attacked by both, with Mr. Perry pulling a knife.

"Tristan started swinging the knife around my throat, stating that if I went to the cops he would stab me," Mr. Jerome said in a police statement.

Mr. Jerome told police he wanted to sell the marijuana "to make some fast cash so I could purchase cigarettes."

Mr. King told police in a statement he didn't know that Mr. Perry would pull the knife and rob Mr. Jerome of his marijuana.

Mr. Jerome was not charged with a crime. Mr. King and Mr. Perry were arraigned in Village Court before Judge William F. McGinn, with Mr. King released to probation supervision and Mr. Perry sent to St. Lawrence County jail on $25,000 bail or $50,000 bond.

Mr. Perry has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Friday afternoon in Village Court.
