Country star coming after all for Hoffman

John Rich, half of the country rock duo Big & Rich, is coming to "the greater Watertown metropolitan area" on Monday to rally support for Doug Hoffman, the Conservative candidate in the 23rd Congressional District.

"I'm going to New York 23 on Monday, the day before the election," Mr. Rich said in a radio interview today. "I'm flying up there, taking my guitar, and we're going to play a couple of rallies. I'm going to go play for some troops, play for some veterans and play for the voters up there and try to rally some more support for Hoffman."

The appearance was confirmed by Rob Ryan, Mr. Hoffman's spokesman, who said he did not have details on where exactly Mr. Rich would play.

"We're trying to work it out," he said. The spokesman said he'd likely know all details by Friday evening.

Mr. Rich had considered playing a rally at Case Middle School on Friday, but the details were never worked out.
