Baseless attacks show a disregard for truth

I hesitate to respond to innuendo, half-truths (at best), and inaccuracies regarding my leadership and management of the town of Hounsfield. However, the baseless character assassins of recent letters to the editor need to be noted for what they are.

The message conveyed by a few disgruntled residents reflects their inability to deal with the facts, the laws, the rules, and the need to run the town of Hounsfield in a legal, responsible manner. It is this vicious, personality-fueled attack that displays everything that is wrong about local politics.

The residents of Hounsfield should clearly see that these efforts are initiated by some self-serving, me-first individuals, who play to favorites and have disregard for rules and policies that don't "fit" their agenda. They are committed to never letting the truth get in the way of their opinions.

I will remain committed to the principles of integrity and truth throughout, and be comfortable with the fact that I make decisions based on fact and not fiction.
