Democrats not as skilled in handling media as Republicans

President Obama is right in getting after the media. When you have 85 percent of the media against you, President Obama could pass the Ten Commandments and his poll numbers would drop.

So how did the Obama media myth develop? That goes back to the primary when the right-wing media joined forces with Obama forces to stop Hillary Clinton. They wanted to see the Democratic Party divided. Thanks to the class of Hillary, that didn't happen.

Trouble with Democrats is that historically they don't know how to balance off the corporate media. How did the Vietnam War destroy the Democratic Party, yet it re-elected President Richard Nixon by 49 states? The answer to that is simple. Walter Cronkite controlled the image of President Lyndon B. Johnson, President Nixon controlled the image of Cronkite.

Under President Jimmy Carter when gas prices went up, we blamed Carter. When gas prices went up under George Bush, we blamed hurricanes.

It's about time the Democrats corrected the image of the media. It's even worse now. Glenn Beck could convince his audience that sea gulls dropped the Titanic.

Look at the problems President Obama is having getting everyone covered under health insurance. All President George W. Bush had to do to get us into two wars is get by the Dixie Chicks.

It's hard to fight against the globalist vision of America, which is a tax cut for the wealthy, wars in the Middle East and a nice ice-cold glass of milk from China.

But there is a media bias out there people don't understand. Look at the state media. There is nothing wrong with Eliot Spitzer running for state comptroller. Deep in the heart of the Bible Belt, Sen. David Vitter is running for re-election in Louisiana. The 2010 ticket would be a lot stronger with Spitzer on it.

If impoverished borderline literates like myself could get elected, the first thing I would do is bring back the fairness doctrine. If I ran New York state, I would take that wonderful PBS series on parks as an inspiration to make tourism a year-round endeavor.
