WADDINGTON — Ronald A. Planty, 69, of County Route 44, Waddington, passed away at his home under the loving care of his family and Hospice on November 1, 2009.

There will be no funeral services or calling hours. At the families request memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley or Waddington Rescue Squad.

Ronald is survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara; children Henry Paro of Memphis, TN, Ronald and wife Tina of Waddington, Christopher of Norfolk, Terry and husband Vincent Halpern of Norwood, Rhonda and husband Jeffrey Sequin of Louisville; 12 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a brother, Thomas Planty and sister Carol Craig, both of Norfolk; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Vernon; and a sister, Elaine Stevens.

He was born August 18, 1940 in Norfolk, the son of Gerald and Bernice (LaDue) Planty. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He married Barbara Matthews on April 18, 1964 in Madrid.

Ronald was employed at Randall Logging in Colton, St. Lawrence Haulers as a dispatcher in Norfolk. He worked at Metropolitan Oil as a driver, mechanic, Fourth Coast Pollution in Waddington, and most recently at Barrett's Paving as a Operating Engineer.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
