Scozzafava found Jon Stewart funny

Republican Dede Scozzafava and I talked today about her future in state politics. You can read about that in Thursday's Watertown Daily Times.

During that interview, I asked her what she thought of Jon Stewart's take on the race on Monday night's "Daily Show."

Ms. Scozzafava said she found it funny - and was even able to laugh at Mr. Stewart's biggest swipe at her, which he delivered while a clip of her press conference in front of Doug Hoffman's headquarters ran on the screen.

"This year's Democratic thumping would be handled by Dede Scozzafava, seen here popping out of a Scozzafava-shaped birthday cake," Mr. Stewart quipped.

"That suit has got to go," she said Wednesday of the pink attire.

And while we were sort of talking about that press conference, I asked her what she was thinking in going down to Mr. Hoffman's headquarters in the first place.

"That was the stupidiest thing that those guys could have had me do," she said.
