Katz hired as Owens' chief of staff

Brad Katz, the Putnam County native who helped manage Bill Owens' successful congressional campaign, has been hired as the Democrat's new chief of staff.

Mr. Katz was one of Mr. Owens' first campaign hires. In addition to his work as campaign manager, he served as spokesman for the campaign's first 25 days.

Prior to assisting Mr. Owens' campaign, Mr. Katz worked for the campaign of Judy Aydelott, who lost a 2006 primary challenge to now-Rep. John Hall.
