BALTIMORE — West Carthage native and former Syracuse University standout Ryan Powell was named to the U.S. National Lacrosse Team on Monday.

Powell will represent the United States at the 2010 Federation of International Lacrosse World Championship in July in Manchester, England.

Powell is one of only five players on the 2010 roster that played for the 2006 national squad. He will be joined by fellow Syracuse alumnus Mike Leveille.

Powell earned All-American honors four times at Syracuse and was a member of the 2000 national championship team. He is tied for second on the school's all-time scoring list at 287 points with his brother, Casey.
