Antwerp man charged with threatening his wife

ANTWERP — Jerry W. Jones, 44, of 33747 Carpenter Road, was released without bail Monday night after being accused of directing a death threat to his estranged wife during a phone conversation, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department.

He was arraigned before Antwerp Town Justice Donald F. Hull and awaits prosecution on charges of harassment and aggravated harassment. Deputies said that after the call was made to Linda M. Jones, he confronted her at her residence on Route 11, Philadelphia, and struck her in the face several times.
