The Watertown City School District Board of Education certified five bids Tuesday night for a total of $7,008,184 for a large-scale construction and upgrade project at Ohio Elementary School as part of the district's capital improvement project.
The district hopes to break ground on a 10-classroom addition to the school so it's ready for the 2010-2011 school year, Superintendent Terry N. Fralick said at a recent board meeting.
The board accepted the following bids on Tuesday:
■ General construction: Bette & Cring, LLC, $3,564,000.
■ Mechanical: Burns Brothers Contractors, $737,524.
■ Plumbing: Brosh Mechanical, $241,000.
■ Electrical: Collins-Hammond Electric, $2,005,060.
■ Roofing: PTL Construction Corp., $460,600.
