Pamelia man killed in one-car accident

A town of Pamelia man was killed in a one-vehicle accident Wednesday night on Route 37 in the town.

Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies said a vehicle operated Jeffrey A. Murtha went off the eastern side of Route 37 near Graham Road and struck a tree in a yard at about 10:30 p.m. Mr. Murtha was taken by Guilfoyle Ambulance Service to Samaritan Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

Investigation into the cause of the accident is continuing. In addition to Guilfoyle, deputies were assisted the scene by the Northpole Fire Department.
