Dewey P. Pierce

POTSDAM — A fireman's funeral for Dewey P. Pierce, 65, was held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Lawrence Funeral Home, Canton. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Canton.

Calling hours were Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, wherethe West Potsdam Fire Department stood honor guard.

Mr. Pierce died Monday (Oct. 26, 2009) in Syracuse.

Surviving are his significant other, "Ardie" Richardson, West Potsdam; his children, Robert Pierce and wife Jennifer, Potsdam, Deborah Murray and husband Don, Norwood, Amy Murphy and husband Shane, Canton; two step-children, Lori Richardson, Charleston, S.C., and Mark Richardson and wife Michelle, Boston; one sister, Sheila Friedel, Potsdam; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.
