Watertown police and federal authorities raided a city apartment on Saturday, seizing crack and powder cocaine and cash.
Everda Baron and Travis Battice, no ages or addresses available, were charged with possession with intent to distribute more than 50 grams of cocaine, federal court records show. Both were arraigned Sunday in U.S. District Court in Syracuse before Magistrate Judge Gustave J. DiBianco on the charges.
According to an affidavit filed by a Drug Enforcement Administration special agent, Mr. Battice has been selling cocaine in St. Lawrence and Jefferson counties since midsummer.
Watertown police detectives and DEA agents raided the apartment and found more than 50 grams of crack cocaine, 30 grams of powdered cocaine and about $9,000 in cash, according to federal court documents. The apartment was being used to distribute cocaine from.
Ms. Baron told DEA agents she came from New York City to deliver a cocaine shipment to Mr. Battice, according to the DEA affidavit.
Ms. Baron was released on several conditions, including not to consume alcohol or illegal drugs and to submit to random drug testing. Mr. Battice was ordered into the High Impact Incarceration Program at Onondaga County Penitentiary in Jamesville.
