Planning Board urges OK for car lot on State Street

The city of Watertown Planning Board recommended Tuesday that the City Council approve a special-use permit for a proposed car lot at 804 State St. The city sold the lot at State and South Rutland streets last year to Mark J. Bonner.

The special-use permit will be the only approval needed from the city before he can open the business. Site plan approval is not needed if the building is not expanded, said Kenneth A. Mix, city planning and community development coordinator.

The City Council is expected to act on the permit application Nov. 16 and likely will schedule a public hearing Dec. 7.
