Police in Northern New York charge several people with drunken driving

The following people were charged with driving while intoxicated and related offenses:

■ Grissel Y. Hintz, 26, Fort Drum, was arrested by Carthage police at 2:50 a.m. Oct. 31 on Church Street, and initially was cited with making an improper turn, making an improper turn signal and failure to keep right. Police said she registered a blood alcohol content of 0.17 percent on the breath test. State law establishes 0.08 percent BAC as the threshold for intoxication.

■ Scott G. Chadwick, 34, of 28520 Martin Road, Evans Mills, faces additional charges of crossing hazard markings and failure to keep right as a result of his arrest by Jefferson County sheriff's deputies at 2:25 a.m. Sunday on Route 342 in the town of LeRay. He tested at 0.15 percent BAC, according to the sheriff's office.

■ Zachary A. Stevens, 21, Lorraine, was arrested by Jefferson County sheriff's deputies at 2:35 a.m. Monday on School Street in the town of Rodman, and also was cited with making an unsafe start, having inadequate lights and driving without a license. His test reading was listed as 0.14 percent BAC.

■ Stacy Moran, 34, Port Leyden, also was charged by Lewis County sheriff's deputies with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle after driving into a parked car and a building, Tracey's Market, at 7:16 p.m. Monday on West Main Street in Port Leyden, deputies said. She allegedly had a BAC of 0.08 percent.

■ Jamie R. Henderson, 40, of 2144 California Road, Gouverneur, was charged Tuesday with felony DWI, consuming alcohol in a vehicle, unlawful possession of marijuana and failure to keep right when he was stopped on Route 58 in the town of Macomb, state police said. He registered a 0.14 percent BAC, police said.

■ Brian M. Allen, 28, of 1214 Old Market Road, Norwood, also was charged Monday with having a bad exhaust when he was stopped on Morgan Street in the village of Norwood, state police said. He registered a 0.09 percent BAC, police said.

■ Heather M. Delperuto, 28, Number Four Road, Lowville, was arrested after being halted on a speeding charge at 11:25 p.m. Tuesday on Route 12 in the town of Turin, according to state police. Her test reading was 0.14 percent, police said.

■ Joseph H. Quick, 26, Canton, was charged Tuesday with felony DWI after he was stopped on Route 11 in the town of Gouverneur, state police said. He registered a 0.12 percent BAC.

■ Jose R. Martinez, 26, of 1815 Olmsted Drive, Apt. 210-C, initially was charged by Watertown police with speeding at 70 mph in a 30-mph speed zone on State Street at 2:15 a.m. Friday. He was halted on Park Drive West. Police said he refused to take a breath test.

■ Adam L. Wood, 26, Potsdam, also was charged Friday with making an illegal U-turn when stopped on Market Street, Potsdam village police said. He registered a 0.11 percent BAC.

■ Antonio Placencia, 24, of 1207 Faichney Drive, Apt. 2, was arrested by Watertown police at 11:21 p.m. Friday in the 100 block of Public Square and was charged with aggravated DWI and speeding. He also was charged with a red light infraction and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, police said. He registered 0.16 percent BAC, they said.

Charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs:

■ Gordon Long, 46, Kansas City, Kan., also was charged by Jefferson County sheriff's deputies with failure to keep right after he was involved in an accident Monday night at Fort Drum. Town of Watertown Justice James P. McClusky set bail at $500, sending him early Tuesday to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building.
