ADAMS — A Celebration of Life service for Muriel L. Rohde, 80, of Zephyrhills, FL, will be Sunday, November 15th, at 2:30PM at the Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville. Burial will be in Woodside Cemetery following the service. Calling hours will be 1:00PM to 2:30PM Sunday, prior to the service, at the funeral home.

Muriel passed away at the Hospice Care Center, Dade City, FL after being stricken at her home in Zephyrhills on October 21st.

She was born December 30, 1928 in Marianna, FL, the daughter of Albert and Vera Cranston. She graduated from Mannsville High School in 1947 and married Orlin G. Rohde, Jr. on October 24th, 1947. They owned and operated a dairy farm on Martin Road until moving to Hollywood, FL in September of 1984. They managed the Townhouse Apartments in Hollywood following their move to Florida. Orlin died November 24th 1995.

Muriel retired in 1999 and moved to Zephyrhills, she married Ralph Knotts on September 22, 2006 in Florida.

Muriel was very active in the First Baptist Church in Dade City, the Primetimers and the Primetimers Chorus, the Betmar Chorus and making room visits on Sunday mornings at the Royal Oaks Nursing Center of Dade City. Her job was to help each person get to the Sunday School Class and give each a hug.

She enjoyed square dancing, ballroom dancing, walking, music and singing, socializing with anyone who had the time and above all she had a Passion for Christ.

She is survived by four daughters, Kathleen Babitskas of High Point, NC, Patricia and Gordon Mattraw of Watertown, Eileen Rohde and Kevin Howie of Boynton Beach, FL, Diane and Greg Smith of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; three sons, Orlin G. Rohde III of Cape Vincent, Eugene and Joanne Rohde of Woodville, and Gerald Rohde of Woodville; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Francis and Lora Rohde of Cranberry Lake; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Orlin and a son, Albert Dean Rohde in August of 1954.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hernando Pasco Hospice Care Center, 37439 Clinton Ave., Dade City, FL 33525 or to the Rohde Center, 2 East Church St., Adams, NY 13605. The Rohde Center was named after Muriel 35 years ago for her service and dedication to the community through the center.
