So Doug Hoffman did not win the NY-23 congressional seat, but what a win it was for conservatism in America. Whatever you call us, "Tea Partiers," "9-12ers" or "Common Sense Conservative Americans," we have been awakened.

For years we have been frustrated as our elected officials seemed to totally ignore us, while pandering to special interests and big-money lobbyists. It seemed that our freedoms and liberties were being sold to the highest bidders and the payoff to the politicians was the funding, by these groups, with huge amounts of money that bought and paid for their re-elections. The Democratic and Republican parties picked their candidates on electability and elite names, not on issues. Our opinions and requests were drowned out by big money, special interests and elite establishment political parties who continually put up candidates that compromised common-sense values and principles for their own political gain. Although we could not quite overcome the big political machinery of both the Republicans and the Democrats, we sure made a lot of noise that echoed across this entire nation.

Our message is clear. Conservative Americans have had enough of tax cheats, sweetheart deals, back-room politics, socialist policies and the piling on of more and more debt for our children and grandchildren. We have had enough of government bailouts, takeover of banks and businesses, and unfunded entitlement programs that threaten to bankrupt the United States. We do not want the government takeover of health care or the forced environmental cap and trade requirements on us and our small businesses while the rest of the world adheres to no such requirements. No more compromising of the principles and values put forth by our Founding Fathers and the Constitution that have made this the greatest country in the world.

Doug Hoffman and Conservatives have proven themselves as winners. Of course the media and the elite pundits will spin this race as a loss for the conservative movement, so let them try to diminish our significance.

We have awakened and plan to make a lot more noise in 2010, and we will not be ignored; just ask Dede.
