CANTON — Clarence Onyiriuka rushed for 127 yards on 34 carries, including a 1-yard touchdown run, to lead the University of Rochester to a 20-7 victory over St. Lawrence University in a Liberty League football game Saturday at Leckonby Stadium.

Rochester (4-5 overall, 4-2 conference) scored two touchdowns in the first quarter. Mike Coolbaugh caught a 60-yard pass from Braezen Subick and Corey Brizzee caught a 5-yard pass from Subick.

The Saints (2-7, 1-5) scored their only touchdown on a 25-yard pass from Michael Baraldi to Ethan Sutton in the third quarter. Baraldi was 29-of-49 for 239 yards for the Saints.

VOLLEYBALL

CLARKSON WINS CHAMPIONSHIP

Wins over rival St. Lawrence University and host Vassar College gave Clarkson the championship of the Liberty League Volleyball Tournament.

Clarkson (28-6 overall) opened the day with a 25-23, 25-22, 21-25, 25-16 win over the Saints (30-8). The 22-25, 25-18, 25-21, 25-17 win over Vassar clinched the title.

SLU defeated Union 25-21, 25-6, 25-21 in its second match of the day and finished 2-2.

MEN'S SOCCER

SUNY CANTON 5, PAUL SMITH'S 1

Moubarak Agoro and Chris Cumella each scored two goals to lead the Kangaroos (10-5-2, 8-3-2) past the host Bobcats in a Sunrise Conference game. Jordan.

WOMEN'S SOCCER

SUNY CANTON 4, PAUL SMITH'S 1

Angie Waryasz scored two goals and added two assists to lead SUNY Canton (9-8, 8-4) past Paul Smith's in a Sunrise Conference game at Paul Smith's.

Kristen Morley also scored two goals for SUNY Canton.

MEN'S SWIMMING

SUNY POTSDAM 150, NORWICH 138

Dan Callahan won three events and Nathan LaRowe won two to lead Potsdam (2-0) to a win over host Norwich in a nonconference meet.

Callahan won the 50- and 100-meter freestyles and also the 50 butterfly. LaRowe won both the 1- and 3-meter diving competitions.

RIT 148, ST. LAWRENCE 82

Chris Woolston won the 100 backstroke and 200 freestyle for St. Lawrence (1-2) in a nonconference loss against RIT in Canton.

WOMEN'S SWIMMING

SUNY POTSDAM 103, NORWICH 66

Brittany Berrus, a former Lowville swimmer, was on a winning 400 medley relay and also won the 200 freestyle to lead Potsdam (1-1) to a nonconference win at Norwich.

RIT 138, ST. LAWRENCE 98

Abbey Lynch led the Saints (1-1) with wins in the 50 and 100 freestyles in a loss to RIT in a nonconference meet in Canton.

CROSS COUNTRY

RICHARDSON SECOND

Justin Richardson finished in second place to lead the SUNY Canton men's cross country team to a fourth-place finish at the Sunrise Conference Championship meet in Presque Isle, Maine.
