CANTON — Clarence Onyiriuka rushed for 127 yards on 34 carries, including a 1-yard touchdown run, to lead the University of Rochester to a 20-7 victory over St. Lawrence University in a Liberty League football game Saturday at Leckonby Stadium.
Rochester (4-5 overall, 4-2 conference) scored two touchdowns in the first quarter. Mike Coolbaugh caught a 60-yard pass from Braezen Subick and Corey Brizzee caught a 5-yard pass from Subick.
The Saints (2-7, 1-5) scored their only touchdown on a 25-yard pass from Michael Baraldi to Ethan Sutton in the third quarter. Baraldi was 29-of-49 for 239 yards for the Saints, with two interceptions.
VOLLEYBALL
CLARKSON WINS CHAMPIONSHIP
Wins over rival St. Lawrence University and host Vassar College gave Clarkson the championship of the Liberty League Volleyball Tournament.
Clarkson (28-6 overall) opened the day with a 25-23, 25-22, 21-25, 25-16 win over the Saints (30-8). The 22-25, 25-18, 25-21, 25-17 win over Vassar clinched the title.
Sara Artus had 18 kills for Clarkson against the Saints.

Cesar Silva recorded 17 points, seven rebounds and five blocked shots in Jefferson Community College's victory in the consolation game of the Mohawk Valley Community College tournament.
James Biggs registered 10 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, while Nick D'Alessandro scored 15 points, and Terence Henderson pulled down seven rebounds for the Cavaliers (2-2).
Tremaine Gooden and Peter Samolis scored 12 and 11 points, respectively, for Queensborough (0-2).

Krystie Laurey produced 14 points to help guide Genesee Community College to the first round victory in the Mohawk Valley CC tournament.
Shakatta Brown and Mercedes Caver each generated 12 points for Genesee (1-0).
Alicia Bradberry scored 14 points to lead the Cannoneers (1-2), who will play Lackawanna Community College of Pennsylvania at noon today in the consolation game.
