Ogdensburg woman faces pot possession charge
OGDENSBURG — Police charged one woman with pot possession after a car accident.
Kelsey A. Yerden, 19, Ogdensburg, was arrested at 11:25 a.m. Saturday at Stone Church and Lovejoy roads in the town of Oswegatchie and charged with violating probation and fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana. According to state police, Mrs. Yerden swerved to avoid an animal and went off the road.
She also was found to be violating probation stemming from a petit larceny charge, police said.
City pair facing charges
over physical altercation
Watertown police charged David A. Gill, 41, of 420 Maple Ave., and Kayla M. Corp, 19, of 207 Wealtha Ave., Saturday night at Mr. Gill's residence after they allegedly got into a fight.
Police said Mr. Gill threw Ms. Corp's cell phone through a window and Ms. Corp pushed Mr. Gill into a mirror, causing minor cuts.
Mr. Gill was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and Ms. Corp was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment. They were held pending arraignment Sunday in Watertown Town Court.
Teen accused of shooting
neighbor with air gun
A teenager was arrested Saturday by Watertown police for allegedly shooting an air gun at his neighbor.
Nichalas M. VanZelf, 17, of 736 W. Main St., Apt. 3, was charged about 11:30 a.m. with second-degree reckless endangerment, fourth-degree possession of a weapon and making a false statement.
According to police, he shot Lorraine M. Allen, who was sitting on her porch across the street, with an air gun from his bedroom window. Police said one of the rounds grazed Ms. Allen's head.
He also wrote a false statement that his brother was with him during the incident, police said.
Mr. VanZelf was taken to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building for processing and is to appear in Watertown City Court.
Watertown man is cited
with damage to vehicle
Ellis L. Veal, 30, of 1301 Marra Drive, was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief Sunday morning by Watertown police.
He is accused of damaging the front and rear doors of a sport utility vehicle belonging to Samantha A. Paquin on the 1700 block of Ohio Street during a fight.
He was taken to the PSB for processing and is to appear in City Court.
Threat leads to arrest
after dispute over money
A Philadelphia man was arrested Friday afternoon for allegedly threatening to kill a man during a dispute over money.
State police arrested Victor S. Ryan, 45, of 25 Antwerp St., about 4 p.m. Friday on County Route 46 in Theresa on charges of a second-degree harassment.
Mr. Ryan allegedly threatened to kill Steven P. Sanford and lunged toward him earlier that day during a dispute, police said.
He is due to appear in Theresa Town Court.
Man accused of choking
girlfriend, restraining her
A Watertown man was accused Sunday morning of restraining his girlfriend by choking her.
Adam B. Turturro, 28, of 294 N. Indiana Ave., Apt. 2, was arrested by Watertown police at 11:30 a.m. Sunday at his home and charged with second-degree unlawful imprisonment and second-degree harassment.
Police said Mr. Turturro choked his girlfriend, Shirley R. Jackson, at his residence and pressed her to a bed about 7:30 a.m. Sunday. He was held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building pending arraignment in Watertown City Court.
Kentucky resident held
as fugitive from justice
A Kentucky man was charged Friday night with being a fugitive from justice.
Jong Woon Park, 44, Louisville, Ky., was arrested by Watertown police at 11:59 p.m. in the 100 block of Washington Street. Police were responding to a report of a man refusing to leave a club.
Police said Mr. Park is wanted in Delaware County, Pa., for an alleged violation of probation. He was held pending arraignment in Jefferson County Court.
Man accused of hitting, chasing woman on street
A Watertown man was charged Saturday night for allegedly hitting a woman in the face and chasing her down the street.
City police arrested Nathan L. Delcastillo, 21, 467 VanDuzee St., about 7 p.m. in the 400 block of Poplar Street on charges of third-degree assault and third-degree stalking. Police said he struck Nichole L. Disotell in the face at his residence and chased her down VanDuzee and West Main streets.
Ms. Disotell suffered swelling and a fracture near her left eye, police said.
Mr. Delcastillo also was charged with third-degree criminal trespassing for allegedly climbing a fence and entering a Poplar Street residence backyard. He was held pending arraignment in Watertown Town Court.
Arrest made after report of theft from Sears
State police Friday afternoon charged a Watertown man with petit larceny for allegedly stealing $250 worth of merchandise at Sears at Salmon Run Mall.
Frederick G. Johnson was accused of stealing three silver bracelets Friday afternoon, police said. He was arraigned in Hounsfield Town Court on Friday and sent to the PSB on $3,000 bail or $600 bond.
