A Watertown man was sentenced Monday in Jefferson County Court to 11/2 years in state prison for possessing marijuana.
Karl J. Marshall,27, of 527 Clay St., will also have to undergo an additional year of supervision upon his release from prison for a Sept. 9 guilty plea to third-degree criminal possession of marijuana.
He admitted at the time of the plea that he possessed more than eight ounces of marijuana Jan. 12 in the town of LeRay. Mr. Marshall was sentenced in January 2006 in Jefferson County Court to 18 months in prison for third-degree criminal sale of marijuana. He was released on parole six months later, according to the state Department of Correctional Services Web site, and his parole expired in July 2007.

Amber N. Heath,23, Watertown, was sentenced to six months in the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building and five years' probation for a Sept. 11 guilty plea to fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. She admitted she sold cocaine in mid-March in Watertown.
Robert L. Bell,21, Watertown, was sentenced to time served at the PSB and five years' probation for Aug. 18 guilty pleas to three counts of fourth-degree grand larceny. He admitted stealing purses from Jean E. Didas, 301 S. Pleasant St.; Susan C. Burdick, 839 Washington St., and Donna E. Babcock, Adams, between May 10 and 19. All three purses contained cash and credit cards.
Ramsey C. Towles,19, Black River, was sentenced to three years' probation for a Sept. 1 guilty plea to third-degree burglary. He had admitted he entered the front porch at the residence of Mark S. Hall, 25879 Route 283, town of LeRay, on May 24.
Justin A. Tanner,19, Philadelphia, was sentenced to three years' probation and ordered to pay $200 in restitution for a Sept. 11 guilty plea to fourth-degree attempted grand larceny. He admitted entering a vehicle in Watertown on July 13 and stealing compact discs.
William R. Frawley,26, LaFargeville, was sentenced to three years' probation for Sept. 9 guilty pleas to second-degree criminal contempt and second-degree harassment, a violation. He admitted at the time of the plea that he struck his ex-girlfriend, Jamie L. Roshia, in the face on March 19 in the town of Clayton, violating an order of protection.
Stephen J. Gilligan,28, Watertown, was sentenced to three years' probation and ordered to pay $40 in restitution for a Sept. 16 guilty plea to fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. He had admitted he used a debit card belonging to his girlfriend, Phileena M. McAtee, without her consent on March 21 in the town of Pamelia.
Jared N. Deveines,25, Croghan, was sentenced to three years' probation, fined $1,500 and had his driver's license revoked for Aug. 31 guilty pleas to misdemeanor driving while intoxicated and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. He admitted that he drove drunk May 9 on South James Street in Carthage while his driver's license was suspended for a prior alcohol-related offense. His probation supervision will be transferred to Lewis County.
Ryan P. Clement,23, Great Bend, admitted violating probation and was resentenced to six months in the PSB, with credit for time served. He was serving three years' probation imposed July 24 for a guilty plea to petit larceny and a probation violation. He admitted he violated probation by failing to report to the department as directed.
Anthony J. Peterkin,46, Watertown, admitted violating probation and was resentenced to six months in the PSB, with credit for time served. Information about what led to his probation supervision was not available. He admitted violating probation by failing to report to the department as directed, failing to notify the department of a change of address and by testing positive for alcohol use while under supervision.
David J. Parkis,43, Watertown, admitted violating probation. Sentencing was deferred while he seeks placement in an inpatient substance abuse rehabilitation program. He was serving five years' probation imposed June 5 for convictions on two counts of third-degree burglary and a single count of second-degree assault. He admitted violating probation by absconding from supervision.
Robert A. Wallace,65, Calcium, admitted violating probation and was discharged from supervision as a failure. He was sentenced in October 2004 to five years' probation for a third-degree grand larceny conviction. He was convicted of embezzling more than $32,000 from Family Counseling Services of Northern New York, where he was the bookkeeper.
He admitted violating probation by failing to make full restitution while under supervision. A civil judgment in the amount of $25,000 was entered on behalf of the counseling agency.
Eugene J. Sochia III,44, Camden, pleaded guilty to first-degree falsifying business records. Sentencing was set for Jan. 11. He admitted altering business records while working at Herb Philipson's Army & Navy Store, 1283 Arsenal St., to cover up more than $5,000 worth of thefts.
Melissa A. Cook,23, of 36562 County Route 46, Theresa, pleaded guilty to fourth-degree criminal mischief. Sentencing was set for Jan. 20. She admitted damaging a vehicle belonging to Eric Jones on May 15 in the town of Theresa.
