North students bring Camelot to life Saturday on Ogdensburg stage

OGDENSBURG — More than 40 local students will take the stage at 3 and 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Ogdensburg Free Academy's George Hall Auditorium for a Missoula Children's Theatre original musical adaptation of "King Arthur's Quest."

The Ogdensburg Command Performances production features King Arthur, Guinivere, Lancelot and a host of others in a musical wonderland.

Playing the title character, King Arthur, is Maggie Gebo, 17. Other featured performers from the north country include Mary Lawrence, 16, as Guinevere; Jaime Jarrett, 14, as Merlin; Rachel Hamilton, 9, as Raven; Elizabeth Brennan, 15, as Taleisin; Sam Pearson, 15, as Lancelot; Rema Mahoney, 16, as the Lady of the Lake; Cynthia Buscemi, 14, as Uther Pendragon; Jordyn Sholette, 9, as Mordred; and Brittany French, 18, as Morgan Le Fey.

The Knights are made up of Taylor Briggs, 14, Morgann Bova, 11, Alexa Trimm, 12, and Brandon Wright, 16. Hunter Bell, 10, David Bush, 12, Kianna House, 12, Nolan Rishe, 11, and Ryan Bouchard, 12, will play the Squires. Appearing as the Camelotians are Rileigh Planty, 8, Hannah Smith, 8, Hannah Richardson, 8, Claire Rishe, 8, Keegan Robinson, 9, Annalese Dutch, 9, Jordan Snyder, 9, Dominick Bouchard, 11, J.T. LaLonde, 10, and Skyler Eaton, 8. Also: Ruthanne Middlemiss, 11, Rebekah Robinson, 11, Maya Dixon, 13, and Eliza Jane Hamilton, 11,

Aiyana Dixon, 11 and Jenna Tulip, 14, will play the Damsels. Megan Reed, 5, Lucia Skelly, 5, Paige Shaver, 6, Campbell Lawrence, 6, Ellie Foster, 6, Melissa Barr, 7, Bryce Lake, 7, Eve House, 7, Desirae Graveline, 8, Storm Sears, 8, and Benjamin Gilbert, 8, will perform the roles of the Minis.

Sylvia Dixon, 16, and Alexis Ziegler, 11, have served as assistant directors throughout the week.

Tickets to "King Arthur's Quest" are $5 for adults and students 12 years and older; $3 for students ages 5 to 11 and free for preschoolers.

Tickets will be available at the door or may be purchased in advance by calling Ogdensburg Command Performances at 393-2625.

The Missoula Children's Theatre residency in Ogdensburg is sponsored by Ogdensburg Command Performances with support from the Ogdensburg Education Association and New York State Council on the Arts.
