Children in the Ogdensburg City School District's elementary schools are scheduled to receive swine flu shots next week, when the district receives its first supply of H1N1 vaccine.
The district's first clinic will be Tuesday at Sherman Elementary School. Pupils at Lincoln Elementary School will be vaccinated Nov. 18, with Kennedy Elementary pupils being vaccinated Nov. 19 and Madill Elementary pupils being vaccinated Nov. 20.
For children 9 and younger, the vaccination will actually consist of two parts, with Sherman pupils receiving part two Dec. 17, Lincoln pupils receiving part two Dec. 16, Kennedy pupils receiving part two Dec. 21 and Madill pupils receiving part two Dec. 18.
Children will receive the vaccination only if parents sign and return the permission slips, which have been mailed to the home of each elementary pupil. Parents wishing to have non-school-age children vaccinated also may do so at these clinics free of charge during the last hour of the clinic, or when their school-age child is receiving his or hers.
