Fitchette garners another volleyball award

BROCKPORT — Brockport senior and Watertown native Alyssa Fitchette has been named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association New York All-Region First-Team for the second consecutive season.

Fitchette is one of 14 players to earn the honor and one of five players from the State University of New York Athletic Conference.

Earlier, she was named the SUNYAC West Division Player of the Year, earned first team all-conference and was on the SUNYAC All-Tournament squad.

Fitchette's outstanding season included 22 double-digit kill matches, six double-digit dig matches and a season hitting percentage of .353, which is the fourth highest in Brockport history.

■ Jefferson Community College men's soccer player Kyle Horton was named to the NJCAA Region 3 Division 3 All-Region first team for defense.
