Mr. & Mrs. F.C. Tabolt -- 55 years

LOWVILLE — Mr. and Mrs. Frederick C. Tabolt, 7542 E. State St., observed their 55th wedding anniversary Nov. 6.

Mr. Tabolt, son of the late Frederick G. and Amy Meister Tabolt, married Margaret E. Biche, daughter of the late Floyd and Kathryn Kirch Biche, Nov. 6, 1954, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, New Bremen. Honor attendants were Ronald Terrillion, Lowville, and Korleen Biche, Castorland, sister of the bride.

Mr. Tabolt is a 1951 graduate of Lowville Academy and Central School, where he was active in several varsity sports. He entered the Army in 1952 and served in the 3rd Infantry Division for 18 months during the Korean War before being discharged in 1954 at the rank of sergeant.

Mr. Tabolt is past president of the Lewis County Softball League, where he played on several town teams and for the Tinkers Tavern team. He was employed by the Lewis County Highway Department for 33 years before retiring in 1990. He enjoys local sports, especially football and baseball, hunting, spending time at his camp and with friends and family, woodworking and riding four-wheelers. He is a member of the Lowville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post.

Mrs. Tabolt is a 1950 graduate of Lowville Academy and Central School and graduated in 1953 from Mercy School of Nursing, Watertown. She retired from Lewis County General Hospital in 1991 as a residential health care facility nursing supervisor after 37 years of service.

She is a member of the Lowville VFW Auxiliary and Mercy Hospital Alumnae. She enjoys quilting, reading, walking and spending time with her family and friends.

They have four children, John, and his companion, Cathy Fitzgerald, Lowville; Thomas, and his wife, Renee, Lowville; Kelly, and her husband, Wallace Balash, New Bremen; Jerry, and his wife, Sue, Rome, six grandchildren and a great-grandson.
