Amanda Backus, Bryan M. Palmese

George and Cheri Backus, Rodman, announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda M. Backus, to Bryan M. Palmese, both of Charlotte, N.C.

Miss Backus is a 2005 graduate of Watertown High School and is pursuing a degree in health education at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Mr. Palmese, son of Johnny and Arlene Creech, Cary, N.C., is a 1994 graduate of Millbrook High School, Raleigh, N.C., and attended North Carolina State University, Raleigh. He is employed by Starwood Hotels.

A June 5 wedding is planned in Jamaica.
