Edward L. Clark, 93, of Spring Valley Dr., Watertown, died Nov. 15, 2009 at the Samaritan Medical Center.

Born on November 24, 1915 in Carthage, the son of Edward L. and Ada M. Yerdon Clark, he graduated from Hamilton High School in 1931.

Mr. Clark entered the US Army on April 1, 1941 and served with the 663rd field artillery, Battery A, 3rd Army, 9th Corps in the European Theater during WW II. He was honorably discharged on October 25, 1945.

He married Dorothy L. Donahue on Oct. 14, 1943 at St. Patrick's Church with Rev. John L. Plunkett officiating.

Mr. Clark was an electrician and worked for several local companies including Dexelectric and Knowlton Brothers. He worked for Local 910 in Massena for a time during the 1950's. He retired in 1979 from a Fort Drum Post Engineers civilian position.

He was a member of the Watertown American Legion Post 61, a member of the Watertown Fire Department for 30 years where he was 1st Assistant Chief, and was Town of Watertown Fire District Commissioner for 25 years.

Among his survivors are his wife, Dorothy L. Clark, Watertown; three daughters and their husbands, Ann M. and Austin A. "Doc" Kilburn, Kathryn M. and Nathan A. Holloway, all of Watertown, Elizabeth A. and Anthony J. DiStefano, Copake Falls, NY; a son and his wife, John R. and Cheryl E. Clark, Adams; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

A brother, Ora Clark, a sister, Sylvia Garnsey, and two 1/2 brothers, William and Norman Clark all died before him.

Arrangements are with the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home, Watertown. Burial will be in the Brookside Cemetery at the convenience of the family,
