Lewis County property owners have to Dec. 15 to seek agriculture district status

LOWVILLE — Property owners have until Dec. 15 to request inclusion into Lewis County's agriculture district.

Written requests for inclusion in the district — which protects landowners from taxing, assessment and zoning regulations that hinder farming — must include a description of the land, the tax map identification number and a copy of the relevant portion of a tax map depicting the location of the property.

Requests should be sent to the Lewis County Department of Economic Development and Planning, Lewis County Court House, 7660 North State Street, Lowville, NY 13367.
