POTSDAM — Brittany Whitton scored 14 points to lead the SUNY Potsdam women's basketball team to a 56-52 win over village rival Clarkson in a nonconference game Tuesday night at Maxcy Hall.
Cortney Poirier added 12 points for the Bears (1-1). Clarkson (0-1) was led by Michelle Reddinger, who tossed in 16 points.

Nicole Perry's game-high 24 points was key in the Cannoneers' Region 3 victory over the Raiders at Johnstown.
Perry finished with four 3-point goals and went 8-for-10 at the free throw line.
Alicia Bradberry added 14 points for JCC (2-4).
KC Dwyer and Dominique Griffin dropped in nine points each for Fulton-Montgomery (1-6).

James Biggs scored six of his 13 points in overtime to help lift the Cannoneers to the Region 3 victory at Johnstown.
Terence Henderson connected for 23 points for JCC (3-4 overall, 2-3 region). Cesar Silva recorded 19 points, and Nick D'Alessandro added 14 for the Cannoneers, which shot just 4-for-15 from the foul line during the overtime session.
Devin Garner dropped in 15 points for the Raiders (3-4).
