A man stationed at Fort Drum was arrested by state police Thursday on allegations that he had at his residence numerous computer-generated images of young girls engaging in sexual conduct.
Elvins Perez, 27, of 28344 Pheasant Run Road, Evans Mills, is charged with first-degree promoting an obscene sexual performance by a child. Upon the recommendation of the district attorney’s office, he was released without bail by Pamelia Town Justice Richard C. Baker, and awaits grand jury action.
The arrest was made after he was served with a search warrant at his apartment, police said. An investigation was conducted by the state police computer crimes and internet crimes against children task force, with the assistance of the FBI, police said.
The collection of images involving girls under the age of 17 occurred on the afternoon of April 21, police allege.
