DEXTER — Lawrence A. Adams Sr., age 71 of Stone Rd. Dexter, passed away Wednesday morning at Samaritan Medical Center.

Lawrence was born June 7, 1938 in Antwerp, the son of Neil and Isabelle Secor Adams. He attended school in Philadelphia and Dexter High School.

Lawrence married Patricia Youngs on April 29, 1956 at the Dexter United Methodist Church. The couple lived on Pillar Point.

Lawrence worked from age 17 at Roe Feed Mill in Limerick until going to work for NYS DOT where he was a heavy machine operator and welder until he retired in 2000.

Lawrence was a member of American Legion Post #583, a life member of Pillar Point Fire Dept. and the Rustic Golf Club. He enjoyed wood working, ice fishing, and golf.

He is survived by his wife Patricia, sons Lawrence Jr. and his companion Christina Bennett of Dexter, Ronnie and Jane Adams of Dexter and a daughter and her companion Beverly Hatch and James Mahon of Sackets Harbor. He also has 4 grandsons and 1 granddaughter, brothers Ralph Adams of Leonardtown, Maryland and Bruce Adams of Watertown and a sister Mrs. Richard Patricia Alboro of Watertown, nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Friday 3:30 P.M. at Dexter Cemetery with Rev. Patricia Walz of Dexter United Methodist Church officiating. There are no calling hours. Donations may be made to American Cancer Society. Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter.
