Potsdam's Chamber head leaving for new position

POTSDAM — The executive director of the Potsdam Chamber of Commerce is leaving the post she has held for the past 21/2 years to become general manager at University Bookstore.

Brenda L. Thornton was hired to head the chamber in May 2007. She said her last day on the job will be Dec. 7.

Ms. Thornton said she and other chamber officials will put together a transition team and a search for her replacement will begin shortly.
