Admiration for Dede

In regard to a Nov. 15 article in the Sunday Weekly, I did not enjoy reading this nasty article about Dede Scozzafava. I have known Dede for 40 years. To me and a lot of others in our small town, she is still one of our most prominent citizens,

I admire her stand on gay rights and abortion. I have gay friends, friends with gay children, sisters, brothers, etc. Are you supposed to stop loving them or harm them just because you find out they are gay? Abortion is an issue for each to decide. Sarah Palin should keep her opinion and big mouth in Alaska, where she belongs.

Dede is a very loving and caring person who has reached out to help many families who have had hardships in their life.
