Ohio State knocks off St. Lawrence

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Natalie Spooner scored with 5 minutes, 22 seconds left in the third period to lead the Ohio State University women's hockey team to a 4-3 victory over St. Lawrence University in a nonconference game Friday.

The Buckeyes (6-6-3 overall) scored three goals in the third period to rally from a 2-1 deficit. Melissa Feste scored the first two goals of the third period for Ohio State. Hokey Langan scored a first-period goal for the Buckeyes.

SLU (5-5-4) received goals from Alley Bero, Michelle Ng and Jamie Goldsmith.

RIT 6, SUNY POTSDAM 2

Kelley Prom and Sarah Dagg each scored two goals to lead the Tigers past SUNY Potsdam (3-3, 1-2) in an ECAC Women's Hockey West game in Rochester.

Katie Stack added one goal and one assist, and Amanda Klassen also scored for the Tigers (2-0-1). Annmarie Lewis and Courtney Laughlin scored for the Bears.

MEN'S HOCKEY

SUNY FREDONIA 6,

SUNY POTSDAM 5

James Muscatello and Billy Sanborn each scored third-period goals to lead the Blue Devils (6-3, 4-2) to a come-from-behind win against SUNY Potsdam in a SUNYAC game in Fredonia.

The Bears (2-4) built a 5-4 lead after two periods. Connor Treacy and Todd Hosmer each had one goal with two assists for the Bears.

Muscatello finished with two goals and one assist for SUNY Fredonia.

MEN'S BASKETBALL

GWYNEDD-MERCY 87,

ST. LAWRENCE 77

Jon Hogga tallied 26 points with 10 rebounds to lead Gwynedd-Mercy (1-1) past the Saints in a semifinal game of the Franklin & Marshall Tournament in Lancaster, Pa.

Garrett Sharlow led the Saints (0-2) with 20 points. Josh Sharlow scored 17 points, Andy Hoercher scored 16 and Ralph Temgoua added 15 for SLU.

HAMILTON 89, SUNY CANTON 56

Pat Sullivan scored 18 points to lead the Continentals (1-0) in a semifinal of the Hamilton Tournament. SUNY Canton (1-4) will play Keystone in the consolation game at 2 p.m. today.

Tony Valentin scored 17 points to lead the Kangaroos (1-4). Josh Wilson scored 11, and Jajuan Williams added 10 for SUNY Canton.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

LEBANON VALLEY 81, CLARKSON 43

Eryn Schultz scored 25 points and grabbed seven rebounds, leading host Lebanon Valley in a semifinal game of their own tournament in Annville, Pa.

Suzie Noyes added 14 points for Lebanon Valley (3-0).

Michelle Reddinger scored 13 points with 10 rebounds for Clarkson (0-2).
