St. Lawrence University's Wendy Pavlus dominated the NCAA Division III field, taking the women's cross-country championship by 17 seconds over the next best finisher Saturday at Highland Park Golf Course in Cleveland.

Pavlus, a Tupper Lake native, completed the course in 21 minutes, 28 seconds to win by nearly 30 meters ahead of second-place Marie Borner of Bethel College.

The junior's finish helped St. Lawrence take second place in the team standings for the program's best finish in school history.

Saints senior Johannah Ludington placed 12th and sophomore Jenna Hulton was 15th.
