MANNSVILLE — Raymond L. Young, 84, of 11285 Dingman Road, died Saturday afternoon at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown. Funeral service will be 10:30 am Wednesday at Saint Cecilia's Church, Adams, with Rev. Douglas A. Decker officiating. Burial will follow in Saint Mary's Cemetery, Copenhagen. Calling hours are 2-4 and 7-9 pm Tuesday at the Piddock Funeral Home, Adams, with a vigil service that will begin at 8:30pm.

Born July 27, 1925 in Copenhagen, son of William and Mary Thesier Young, he attended school in Copenhagen and later took trade courses in Watertown. Mr. Young drove milk truck and farmed in Lowville, drove truck for Roe Feeds, was a machinist at Black Clawson, Watertown, and then worked at Eastman Kodak in Rochester, before retiring in 1987.

He married Helen Brown of Barnes Corners on October 7, 1946 in the rectory of Saint Paul's Church in Black River. The couple lived in Lowville and North Rose, before moving to the town of Ellisburg in 1991. Mrs. Young died May 7, 1999.

He is survived by two sons and daughter's in law, Robert F. and LuAnn, Clay; Charles E. and Donna, Henderson; two daughters, Jean M. Baker, Adams Center; Patricia A. Young, Mannsville; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one sister, Evelyn LaVere, Pierrepont Manor; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by two brothers Richard and Kenneth, who died in infancy.

Mr. Young was a communicant of Saint Cecilia's Church and the Knights of Columbus Council #7364.
