A Watertown man pleaded guilty Monday in Jefferson County Court to a charge that he tried to use a stolen credit card.

Jason M. Bartholomew,31, of 608 Davidson St., pleaded guilty to fourth-degree attempted grand larceny. He was charged Oct. 28 with fourth-degree grand larceny after city police alleged that Sept. 14 he made an unauthorized $70 withdrawal from a checking account belonging to Dawn K. Beebe, Watertown, and that Sept. 26 he stole a credit card from her purse in her apartment. He then made purchases totaling $80.79 with the card from Sept. 29 to Oct. 2, police alleged.

He is due to be sentenced on that charge, as well as another fourth-degree attempted grand larceny conviction, Dec. 16. He had pleaded guilty Oct. 26 to a charge he had taken a cell phone from a Watertown woman's apartment April 4.

Mr. Bartholomew spent two years in state prison from 2004 to 2006 on a second-degree attempted robbery charge. The charge stemmed from a November 2003 holdup of the Mercer's store at Rices Road and Route 11 in the town of Watertown.

In other court activity Monday:

Corey M. Peer,20, of 515 Plum Ave., pleaded guilty to fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. Sentencing was set for Jan. 22. He admitted selling heroin July 13 in the county.

Christopher A. Miller,28, of 31 Edith St., Gouverneur, pleaded guilty to second-degree criminal trespass and petit larceny. He admitted he unlawfully entered the town of LeRay apartment of Heather Zrnick on June 7 and took money without her permission. Police said at the time of his arrest that he stole $1,000 while house-sitting for the Fort Drum woman.

Julian Velez III,23, Jacksonville, Fla., pleaded guilty by mail to two counts of sexual misconduct. Sentencing was scheduled for Jan. 22. He was accused in July of having sexual relations with a 15-year-old Watertown girl.

Reed B. Price,20, Syracuse, pleaded guilty by mail to disorderly conduct and was sentenced to a one-year conditional discharge and ordered to perform 40 hours of community service. He was accused of driving and damaging two golf carts in the early morning hours Aug. 16 at the Thousand Islands Country Club on Wellesley Island.
