LOWVILLE — Pauline M. "Pauli" Perkins, 78, of Route 177, Lowville, died at her home Saturday afternoon, November 21, 2009, under the care of her family, her special caregiver, Gladys Der, and Lewis County Hospice.
There will be no calling hours or funeral service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Contributions may be made to Friends of Lewis County Hospice, P.O. Box 266, Lowville, NY 13367. Arrangements are with Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., 5702 Waters Road, Lowville, NY 13367.
She is survived by two daughters and a son, Shirley Czajka of Old Forge, NY, Katharine Manning of Lowville, Charles S. "Chuck" Perkins II of Falls Church, VA; her step-mother, Catherine Marshall of Waterville, ME; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley L. "Scoop" and Robert Marden of Waterville, ME, Martha and Kenneth Castner of Rockport, ME; four grandchildren and a great-grandson, nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by a son, Steven M. Perkins, who died on October 11, 2002 and her longtime companion, Dennis "Mike" Birmingham, who died on November 25, 2000.
Pauli was born on January 30, 1931 in Waterville, Maine, a daughter of the late Bertrand and Edna Burns Marshall and graduated from Deering High School, Portland, Maine, in 1949. She worked in her mothers' hairdressing shop in Portland, Maine, before her marriage. On July 12, 1950, she married Charles S. Perkins in Concord, NH. The marriage later ended on divorce. She was employed at several area restaurants for many years. She was an avid reader, she enjoyed cross stitch, crocheting and painting.
