Alice A. Cassidy

POTSDAM — Mrs. Alice A. Cassidy, 88, of Potsdam, NY passed away on Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009 at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital. Mrs. Cassidy was a resident of Potsdam, NY.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009 at 10 a.m. at St. Andrew's Church in Norwood, NY with Monsignor Harry Snow celebrant. Friends may call at the Garner Funeral Home in Potsdam on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m.

Alice is survived by a son, Gerald Bray, of Sarasota, FL; daughter, Janet Stillmanof Yuma, AZ; sister, Laurette Brosseau of Cornwall, Ontario; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her husband, Paul Cassidy; and 13 brothers and sisters.

Alice was born on Sept. 13, 1921 in Cornwall, Ontario to Maxime Belanger and Eva Goulet. She attended Canadian schools. She came to the United States and started her own business. She was the owner and operator of Alice's Beauty Shop in Unionville, NY for many years.

She was married to Paul Cassidy on October 22, 1955 in Malone, NY. Alice loved flowers, gardening and especially her snowball shrubs.
