Dustin Pond recorded nine points, 12 rebounds and five assists to help lift Watertown to the 41-38 overtime victory over Gouverneur in a season-opening nonleague boys basketball matchup Monday at Case Middle School.

Alex Bush generated a game-high 16 points, and Jared Knowlton connected for 10 points for the Wilcats.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

HERMON-DEKALB 47, MORRISTOWN 26

Brianna Sayer scored 14 points to lead the Demons in a nonleague game in Morristown.

Rochelle Whitten added 13 points for Hermon-DeKalb (1-0).

Desirea Dulmage scored six points and grabbed nine rebounds for Morristown (0-1).
