The state Department of Environmental Conservation Region 6 reported the following fines and violations of environmental conservation law in St. Lawrence, Jefferson and Lewis counties:
ST. LAWRENCE COUNTY
■ Derrick M. Hills, 19, Canton, paid $900 in fines and $15 in court fees for possessing a firearm while using artificial light on lands inhabited by deer, possessing a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle, using artificial light to take deer, hunting big game after legal hunting hours, transporting an untagged deer and illegally possessing wildlife Nov. 11, 2008, in the town of Russell. He appeared Sept. 21 in Town Court.
■ Eric M. Hand, 26, Alexandria Bay, paid a $75 fine for fishing without a license Dec. 14 in the town of Hammond. He appeared Sept. 23 in Town Court.
■ Chris D. Underwood, 21, Hilton, paid a $75 fine for fishing without a license Aug. 13 in the town of Hammond. He appeared Oct. 14 in Town Court.
■ Matthew J. Beamer, 38, Winthrop, paid a $50 fine for failing to immediately tag a deer March 25 in the town of Stockholm. He appeared Oct. 21 in Town Court.
■ Michael J. Bintz, 62, Altamont, paid a $50 fine for having an unregistered vessel Aug. 22 in the town of Hammond. He appeared Sept. 23 in Town Court.
■ Roger D. Dean Jr., 27, Edwards, paid a $50 fine for failure to carry a hunting license Sept. 30, 2008, in the town of Edwards. He appeared Nov. 20, 2008, in Town Court.
■ Bruce W. Kackison, 43, Kirkville, paid $50 fine for taking undersize crappie Dec. 18 in the town of Hammond. He appeared Sept. 23 in Town Court.
■ John A. and Eben L. St. Germain, 45 and 43, respectively, Ogdensburg, each paid a $50 fine for having more than five tip-ups while ice fishing Feb. 4 in the town of Hammond. They appeared Sept. 23 in Town Court.
■ Anwar R. Thomas, 26, Jersey City, N.J., paid a $50 fine and $85 in court fees for unsafe passing June 8 in the town of Colton. He appeared Oct. 5 in Town Court.
■ Christopher P. Curtin, 53, Camillus, paid a $35 fine for fishing without a license Aug. 22 in the town of Hammond. He appeared Sept. 23 in Town Court.
■ James C. Baker, 36, Norfolk, paid a $25 fine for fishing without a license July 31 in the town of Colton. He appeared Oct. 22 in Town Court.
■ Daniel J. Maguire II, 20, Colton, paid a $25 fine for having insufficient personal flotation devices Aug. 16 in the town of Colton. He appeared Oct. 5 in Town Court.
■ Cole R. Shaver, 26, Hammond, paid a $25 fine for taking undersize walleye Dec. 14 in the town of Hammond. He appeared Sept. 23 in Town Court.
JEFFERSON COUNTY
■ Christopher Copper, 27, Brookville, Fla., paid a $75 fine for taking fish by means other than angling Oct. 10, 2008, in the town of Ellisburg. He appeared Aug. 8 in Town Court.
■ Jason E. Kloster, 31, Copenhagen, paid a $75 fine and $75 in court fees for transporting an uncovered load of solid waste June 13 in the village of Glen Park. He appeared Oct. 8 in Village Court.
■ Matthew I. Thompson, 29, Lander, Wyo., paid a $75 fine and $75 in court fees for taking fish by means other than angling Sept. 5 in the town of Henderson. He appeared Oct. 21 in Town Court.
■ Jacob A. Conley, 24, Adams, paid a $50 fine and $150 in court fees for fishing within 100 yards of a fish ladder and taking bass during the closed season June 10 in the town of Brownville. He appeared July 25 in Town Court.
■ Jacques Roy, 62, Andre, Quebec, paid a $50 fine and $75 in court fees for fishing with more than two hand lines July 20 in the town of Henderson. He appeared Sept. 9 in Town Court.
■ Stephen A. Thul, 28, Middlesex, N.J., paid a $50 fine for fishing without a license Sept. 6 in the town of Orleans. He appeared Sept. 22 in Town Court.
■ Thomas M. Morgia, 58, Dexter, paid a $35 fine and $75 in court fees for fishing with more than two hand lines May 24 in the town of Brownville. He appeared Oct. 8 in Town Court.
■ Paul M. Fowler, 65, Syracuse, paid a $25 fine for fishing without a license July 3 in the town of Orleans. He appeared Sept. 1 in Town Court.
■ Taylor J. Parks, 18, LaFargeville, paid a $25 fine and $75 in court fees for fishing without a license April 25 in the Town of Brownville. He appeared July 7 in Town Court.
LEWIS COUNTY
■ Robert L. VanAernam, 63, Carthage, paid a $200 fine and $150 in court fees for feeding bears during the open bear hunting season and hunting bear with the aid of a bait pile Sept. 19 in the town of Diana. He appeared Oct. 15 in Town Court.
■ Leslie G. Mono, 43, Carthage, paid a $150 fine and $75 in court fees for hunting bear with the aid of a bait pile Sept. 19 in the town of Diana. Mr. Mono appeared Oct. 15 in Town Court.
■ William J. Hickok, 40, Carthage, paid a $25 fine and $75 in court fees for allowing dogs to run at large on land inhabited by deer Aug. 23 in the town of Croghan. He appeared Oct. 20 in Town Court.
