Lakers capture win against Knights

OSWEGO — Chad Burridge scored 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the SUNY Oswego men's basketball team to a 60-46 win over Clarkson in a nonconference game Tuesday.

It was the first meeting for first-year Lakers head coach Adam Stockwell against his former team.

Hayden Ward added 13 points and 14 rebounds for SUNY Oswego (3-1).

Elson Pickering scored 10 points to lead Clarkson (3-2).

SUNY POTSDAM 104,

SUNY CANTON 62

Anthony Williams scored 20 points and four of his teammates also reached double figures as the Bears (1-2) cruised to a home nonconference victory.

Curtis Pierce scored 18 points, and Edward Cross and Benjamin Walker each tossed in 14. Skip Schwartz added 10 for SUNY Potsdam.

Jajuan Williams led the Kangaroos (1-7) with 14 points, Deric Alston scored 12 and Tony Parker added 11 for SUNY Canton.

SUNY PLATTSBURGH 90,

ST. LAWRENCE 86

Carl Munnerlyn scored 23 points to lead the Cardinals (5-1) past the Saints in a nonconference game in Plattsburgh.

Errol Daniyan and Steve Thomas both contributed 14 points, and Chris Ruiz added 12 for the Cardinals.

Garrett Sharlow led the Saints (1-3) with 24 points. Andy Hoercher tossed in 12 and Josh Sharlow, Ralph Temgoua, Terry Parham and Nick Meunier each added 11.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

CLARKSON 63, SUNY OSWEGO 62

Michelle Reddinger made two free throws as time expired to lead the Golden Knights past the Lakers in a nonconference game in Oswego.

The Lakers (1-4) built a 37-25 halftime lead, but Clarkson shot 11-of-22 in the second half and rallied for the win.

Lauren Pluchino led the Clarkson (2-3) with 20 points, while Reddinger and Carey Turner each finished with 12. Sierra Noles grabbed 10 rebounds for Clarkson.

Kayla Ryan led SUNY Oswego with 18 points and Tricia Sullivan scored 11.

SUNY PLATTSBURGH 50,

ST. LAWRENCE 48

Molly Harte scored 18 points and Taylor Amarando tossed in 16 to lead the Cardinals (2-3) past the Saints in a nonconference game in Plattsburgh. Lindsey Larivee added 10 points for SUNY Plattsburgh.

Abby Stanton and Casey Capello each scored 15 to lead the Saints (4-1) and Katherine Edgerton tallied 10.
