HOGANSBURG — Mrs. Jeanette A. Cook, 65, of 312 state Highway 37, Hogansburg, died very unexpectedly Thursday morning (Dec. 3, 2007) at Massena Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Hogansburg Methodist Church with Rev. Sheila Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in the Hogansburg Methodist Cemetery.

Friends may call at the family home from Saturday at 2 p.m. until the time of the funeral.

She is survived by her husband, Carl; one son, Darren and Francine, Hogansburg; one daughter, Denean Cook, Hogansburg; seven grandchildren, Tiara, Corey, Shane, Carlee, Darren, Dylan and Jalen Cook; three great-grandchildren, Gavin, Garin and Gracelyn; two sisters, Connie and William Sunday, Snye, Que., and Irene Gambill and companion Nelson Sawatis, Snye, Que.; one half sister, Peggy Jacobs, Oka, Que.; one half brother, Richard Jacobs, Cornwall Island, Ont.; nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Esther C. Loran, April 27, 2009; and three brothers, Bernard Loran, May 23, 2004, Sanford I. Loran, July 28, 1985, and Daniel E. Loran, Aug. 8, 1983.

Jeanette was born May 23, 1944 in Hogansburg, the daughter of the late John and Frances Cree Loran. She attended St. Regis Mohawk and Salmon River schools.

She married Carl B. Cook Nov. 30, 1963 at the Hogansburg Methodist Church by Rev. Leonard W. Owens.

She worked at Levi's in Cornwall, as a cleaning lady at St. Regis Mohawk School and as a cook for Hogansburg Senior Citizens and Cedar View Golf Course.

Mrs. Cook was a trustee and member of the Andrew W. Cook Post 1479 Ladies Auxiliary, the ladies' pool team, the senior citizens club and the Hogansburg Methodist Church.

She enjoyed radio bingo, bingo, yahtzee, shopping and spending time with her family.

Phoebe D. Perry

HEUVELTON — Funeral services for Phoebe Davis Perry, age 83, of Heuvelton will be held on Monday, December 7th, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at Frary Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Smith officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery immediately following. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 6th, 2009 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Frary Funeral Home. Mrs. Perry passed away Thursday, December 3rd, 2009 at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center.

Mrs. Perry is survived by her son, David C. Perry, of Centreville, Virginia, a daughter, Susan Roach and husband, Philip, of Ogdensburg; two grandchildren, Laura Perry, of Rochester, and Alison Perry of Plattsburgh; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her very special caregivers, Ester, Mary Lou, Addie, Donna, Shauna, Avis, Bonnie, and Debbie. Mrs. Johnson was predeceased by four brothers: James, Nelson, Richard and Ralph Davis; three sisters, Dorothy Harris, Pauline Woodside, and Millie Gowdy.

Mrs. Perry was born October 8, 1926, the youngest child of James and Myrtle Davis of Canton, NY. She attended Canton Central School and graduated from Rensselaer Falls High School in 1944 as Salutatorian. She married Seaton M. Perry on October 13, 1946 in Hornell, NY with Rev. Charles Thomas officiating. They were married 56 years. She was employed at Heuvelton National Bank from 1944 to 1962. She later worked at St. Lawrence National Bank from 1962 to 1970 and for Dr. Bernard Musselman for 16 years.

She served as an auditor for the first Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Amvets, the Bankers Association, and the BPOE Ladies of the Elks. She was a director of the Heuvelton Chamber of Commerce and the Farmer's Market. She was also a member of the Eastern Star.

Phoebe's passions were figure skating, dancing and gardening. She loved her family and her dog, Lacy.
