SACKETS HARBOR — Hitting a school-record 12 3-pointers, Sackets Harbor roared past Beaver River 74-39 Friday night in a Frontier League crossover boys basketball game.

Zach D'Alessandro made five threes, finishing with 22 points, and Zach Allen had three for the Patriots (3-0). Beau Fletcher contributed 13 points, seven rebounds and four assists.

Ryan Scanlon netted 11 points for the Beavers (1-1).

SANDY CREEK 50, COPENHAGEN 35

Koby Fowler scored 12 points, dished out nine assists and had seven steals as the Comets broke away early to beat the Golden Knights in a crossover game at Sandy Creek.

Dylan Shiel led Sandy Creek (2-0) with 17 points, while Chris Loran grabbed 15 rebounds.

Jake Spaulding was the only double figure scorer for Copenhagen (0-2) with 10 points.

ALEXANDRIA 50, SOUTH LEWIS 45

Vinnie Hoover poured in 23 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as the Purple Ghosts won at Turin to give first-year head coach Jared Plantz his initial varsity victory.

Anthony Ripp scored 19 points and hauled in 11 rebounds for South Lewis (0-2), which went just 6-for-19 at the foul line.

WATERTOWN 59, WEST GENESEE 43

The Cyclones held the host Wildcats to only two second-quarter points and seven in the third quarter during a nonleague victory at Camillus.

Sophomore Dustin Pond scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for Watertown (3-0). Demar Poindexter contributed 17 points and seven rebounds, and Josh Robinson finished with 11 points as WHS seized a 25-15 halftime lead.

Eric Spencer paced West Genesee (1-2) with 12 points.

MASSENA 74, CARTHAGE 53

Brady Condlin scored 21 points as the Red Raiders led the entire way in a nonleague game at Carthage.

Trevor Bacon added 12 points and J. P. Dumas 11 for Massena (2-1), which led 37-26 at halftime.

Jolyon Davis led Carthage (1-1) with 12 points and Dion Lightner added 11.

IHC 70, BLESSED VIRGIN MARY 38

Connor Caldwell's 14 points and seven rebounds lifted the host Cavaliers to a nonleague victory at IHC.

Pat Caldwell added five steals and four assists for Immaculate Heart (2-0), which led by 38-10 at halftime, and had 12 players score.

GENERAL BROWN 92, APW 49

Thursday night at Parish, the visiting Lions scored 37 first-quarter points and placed five players in double figures to rout the Rebels in a "B" Division game.

Rob Thomas led General Brown (1-1, 1-0) with 21 points, nine steals and four assists. Tanner Pitkin contributed 20 points and six rebounds, Sam Massaro scored 15 points, Dallas Thomas 11 and Troy McAdam had 10 points and four assists.

Cody House and Ben Benedetto led Altmar-Parish-Williamstown with 11 points apiece.

POTSDAM 64, INDIAN RIVER 36

Zach Adams generated 24 points and 10 rebounds and Josh Adams provided eight points and 10 rebounds to pace the Sandstoners (2-0) in a nonleague game against visiting Indian River.

Scott Bartenstein hit two 3-point baskets in the opening quarter and finished with 14 points, while Jon Coleman added 10 for Potsdam.

Jarrod Mattingly finished with 16 points for Indian River (1-1).

GIRLS BASKETBALL

GENERAL BROWN 53, APW 46

Lindsay Hanson registered 14 points for the Lions during a Frontier League "B" Division victory at Dexter.

Eleni Pitre grabbed nine rebounds for General Brown (1-0), while Amber Colligan chipped in with 10 points.

Jessica Peters and Ella Fassler led the Rebels (0-2, 0-1) with 13 and 11 points, respectively.

SOUTH JEFFERSON 71, LOWVILLE 6

Rachael Bassett supplied 16 points and six assists as the Spartans coasted to a "B" Division win at Adams.

Maddy Wetterhahn and Cassie St. Hilaire each scored 11 points for South Jefferson (2-0, 1-0).

Lowville is 0-2, 0-1.

SALMON RIVER 3,

THOUSAND ISLANDS 2

Kyle Roundpoint netted the game-winner 10:24 into the third period to lift the Shamrocks to an NAC Division II win at Fort Covington.

Kevin Davey and Stevie Ray Adams also scored for Salmon River (2-0). Chris Hunt and Cory Hubbard scored back-to-back goals in the second period for Thousand Islands (0-1).

ALEXANDRIA 7, MALONE 2

Josh Slocum scored two goals and assisted on two others in the Purple Ghosts' season-opening victory at Alexandria Bay.

Jason Heath recorded one goal and four assists, Justin Ward added a pair of goals, and Aziel Snyder made 15 saves for Alexandria.

Shawn Mulverhill and Jared Marshall scored for the Huskies.

FULTON 4, IHC 0

Trevor Littler notched a pair of goals and an assist as host Fulton earned a Section 3 hockey victory.

Nick Anzalone finished with 37 saves for the Cavaliers (0-4, 0-3).

VOLLEYBALL

LOWVILLE 3, APW 0

Hayley Strife had 15 kills to help power the Red Raiders to the 25-14, 25-16, 25-17 Frontier League "B" Division victory over the Rebels at Lowville.

Katie O'Brien and Alex Virga each distributed nine assists, and Taylor Sterner added nine service points, including three aces, and three kills for Lowville (1-1).

Valerie McDermott provided seven kills, and Rhiannon Wheeler handed out seven assists for Altmar-Parish-Williamstown (0-2).

SOUTH JEFFERSON 3,

BELLEVILLE HENDERSON 1

Emily Pfeil dished out 16 assists and Nicole Lalone had 17 digs as the Spartans won an interdivision match, 19-25, 25-10, 25-19, 26-24, at Belleville.

Samantha Snyder supplied 14 kills and four blocks while Danielle Bartlett recorded a dozen kills and three blocks for South Jefferson (1-1).

Caitlin Grimshaw distributed 12 assists and Kari Gehrke and Amanda Shultz each had seven kills for Belleville Henderson (1-2).

THOUSAND ISLANDS 3,

SANDY CREEK 0

Siarra Sherako registered 24 kills, including 14 in the first game, and scored nine service points, to lead the Vikings to a 25-18, 25-20, 25-13 "C" Division victory at Clayton.

Rachel Parker handed out 18 assists, and Nicole Griffin added 10 assists for Thousand Islands (2-1).

Deanna Buley supplied four kills and one block, while Rachel Pretory recorded five kills and eight digs, and Marie Mason had three kills and 10 digs for the Comets (0-2).

WRESTLING

CONNERS WINS 300TH

South Jefferson head coach Pat Conners picked up his 300th career victory and Spartan senior Sean Hanson earned the 200th individual win of his career as the Spartans went 5-0 at the Hedgesville Eagles Tournament in West Virginia.

Hanson won his 200th match by pin in a 46-26 win over Hedgesville, W.Va. He also recorded a fall in a 33-30 win over Millbrook, Va. to bring the Spartans back from a three point deficit.

Conners, who is in his 18th seaseon, got his 300th victory in a 38-30 win over Hidden Valley, Va.

The Spartans also defeated Martinsburg, W.Va. (57-18) and Washington, W.Va. (44-24).
