SANDY CREEK — Mr. and Mrs. Robert M. Bachar, Sandy Pond, will observe their 50th wedding anniversary Tuesday.
Mr. Bachar, son of the late
Michael and Elizabeth Bachar, married Arlene F. Rozonkiewiecz, daughter of the late William and Frances Rozonkiewiecz, Dec. 15, 1959, at Fernwood Methodist Church.
Honor attendants were Thomas Bachar, Delaware, brother of the groom, and the late Harriett Rozonkiewiecz, sister of the bride.
Mr. Bachar attended Sandy Creek Central School and served in the Air Force. He is a caretaker for several cottages and a parking lot on Sandy Island Beach and has been employed as a woodsman logging trees, conducting tree surgery and was involved in the building of Interstate 81. He enjoys stock car racing, Harley Davidson motorcycles, vintage cars, "witching" for wells and is known as the "mayor of Sandy Pond."
Mrs. Bachar attended Pulaski Academy and Central School, was employed by General Electric, Syracuse, and has been a waitress at the Irish Wigwam, Sandy Pond, for several years. She enjoys vacuuming, gardening and scratch-off lottery tickets.
They have three children, Michael and his wife Lisa, West Monroe, Martin and Mark, Sandy Pond, and four grandchildren.
